RHUBARB POWER & POLITICS LAUNCH SUNDAY, JANUARY 19TH
MENNONITE LITERARY SOCIETY WELCOMES AND THANKS YOU!
All subscribers, donors, members, supporters, funders, contributing writers, and artists are welcome to join the Mennonite Literary Society (MLS) and Rhubarb staff to celebrate the Rhubarb successes of 2013 and launch Rhubarb #34 Power & Politics at Sam’s Place, Sunday January 19th at 2:00 p.m. absolutely free!
The Mennonite Literary Society takes this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported Rhubarb in 2013 whether contributing writing, art, or money. The Society will also announce a new twist in this year’s literary contests.
The MLS extends this invitation to all members of the Manitoba Magazine Publishers’ Association Manitoba Writers’ Guild, The Writers Union of Canada, League of Canadian Poets, Manitoba Association of Playwrights, Playwrights Union of Canada and Professional Writers’ Association of Canada. Should this net still not be wide enough to include you, come anyway. It’s January, pay what you can, $10.00 will get you a copy of the issue a back issue and free Rhubarb platz and coffee. The Rhubarb fizz, such a hit at our Theatre launch, will also be back.
Featured readings begin at 2:00 pm. Armin Wiebe, and Veralyn Warketin will present excerpts from their award winning one-act play scripts. Luann Hiebert whose poetry appears in the Power & Politics issue will read from her debut poetry collection which Turnstone will be publishing next year.

Doors will open shortly after 1:00 pm to offer our first crokinole opportunity, before the launch. The MLS is promoting crokinole as the loosely defined Mennonite national sport leading up to a city-wide tournament by 2015.
